Visitors Information Center Volunteer Program

OVERVIEW

If you know and love Henderson County, the perfect volunteer opportunity awaits you at the Visitor Information Center, located in Downtown Hendersonville. This is a chance for you to share your knowledge of Western North Carolina, while also learning more through ongoing training programs and educational tours.

Join the Visitor Center corps of volunteers, and you wont just find a way to fill your time, you’ll get a whole family! This network of people have developed friendships and close bonds with one another, as well as staff. The Visitor Center is a very pleasant and fun place in which to work and serve our county.

Volunteers enjoy the camaraderie and relaxed atmosphere of the Visitor Center, and have the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life from all over the country and world, as well as the many furry friends that stop by throughout the year.

The Visitor Center could not operate on the level of success it enjoys today without the very responsible family of Volunteers working alongside its staff members.

VOLUNTEERING AT THE HENDERSONVILLE VISITOR CENTER

The Visitor Center is open seven days a week to assist visitors and local alike, by answering questions, giving maps, directions & brochures, sharing about the history of the area, and offering travel, dining, lodging, attractions and entertainment information. Visitor Center volunteers sole focus is the folks that walk through the door, so they are not expected to answer phone calls or handle money in the gift shop.

Volunteers are included in area familiarization tours, gain meaningful friendships, receive occasional complimentary tickets to area attractions, and are invited to volunteer parties.

Volunteers are needed year-round, as the Visitor Center is open 7 days per week. The Visitor Center is only closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.

VOLUNTEERING FOR SPECIAL EVENTS

Volunteers are needed during Special Events to fill key positions at Garden Jubilee, Music On Main Street and the Street Dances. Volunteers provide assistance with operations of the events, and offer hospitality to the vendors and festival goers. Please join us!
