Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland show will be held at Tryon International Equestrian Center, from November 15, 2019 to January  5, 2020. The event will include over two miles of custom-made light displays.

The hours of operations will be 6 to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 6 to 10 p.m. or later Saturday and Sundays. Including Holidays, even in the rain! On weekends, additional fun activities are available at the Legends Plaza at Tryon Resort, including photos with Santa, storytelling with Mrs. Claus, carousel rides, animal experiences, live music, s’mores roasting, activities for kids, and concessions.

New Year’s Eve “Apple Rise” Celebration

The New Year’s Eve Apple Rise is the 4th Annual New Year’s Eve celebration at the Historic Courthouse, it includes a family celebration at 6pm with a countdown to the Greenwich Mean Time (London) midnight (7pm local time). Starting at 11pm is the official Apple Rise ceremony, which leads up to the local midnight New Year celebration. Noisemakers, glow sticks and hot beverages will be given out while supplies last, plus a DJ will play the top hits of 2019, and warming stations, corn hole and giant jenga games will be available to help to pass the hour.

Olde Fashioned Christmas at Art MoB Studios

Art MoB Studios & Marketplace will be participating in Hendersonville’s Olde Fashioned Christmas celebration on Friday, December 6, from 5 pm to 8 pm. Stores and galleries In the village stay open late for holiday shopping and entertainment. Dressed as vintage-inspired Christmas characters from the 1800s, Art MoB members will stroll Main Street and pass out candy canes and invitations to come in from the winter chill.

Art MoB will display a tree decorated exclusively with ornaments handmade by artists, and there will also be an array of gingerbread houses designed and created by children ages 5–12. For those who want to come in from the cold, Art MoB will also host demonstrations during Olde Fashioned Christmas and serving up delicious hot cocoa and offering holiday treats.

Art MoB is located at 124 4th Avenue East in Hendersonville. Winter hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 1–4 p.m. on Sunday.

The Henderson County Curb Market extends an invitation to its annual Ol’ Timey Christmas celebration from 8 until 2 on Saturday, November 30th. The Curb Market, located at 221 N. Church Street in downtown Hendersonville, will offer live holiday music by Tom Brown “One-Man-Band” and complimentary home baked cookies, hot mulled cider and other refreshments. Customers will enjoy shopping for local seasonal produce, dried flowers, wreaths, baked goods, preserves and salsas. Peppermint the Bear Scavenger Hunt

Peppermint the Bear is a special friend of Santa and she needs your help finding her missing cubs! They were sent out to get holiday decorations and a tree, and have not come home. Find Peppermint at the Visitor Center, and then head out to shops along Main Street to look for her cubs. If you help her find 12 of her cubs, you will be eligible to win a prize. The scavenger hunt is available from 11/29-12/23, so that the bears will be home in time for Christmas!

Turkey Trot 5k

Turkey Trot 5k

The City of Hendersonville will be hosting their annual Turkey Trot 5k Thanksgiving morning. The Trot is a run/walk event open to all ages, all fitness levels and all family members! The 5k starts in front of City Hall on Thanksgiving morning at 8:30 and travels through downtown ending back at City Hall. The entry fee is $12 which includes a t-shirt. This is a non-sanctioned event – we’re here for fun and exercise. Event is rain or shine, sleet or snow!

Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland

Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland

Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland show will be held at Tryon International Equestrian Center, from November 15, 2019 to January  5, 2020. The event will include over two miles of custom-made light displays.

The hours of operations will be 6 to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 6 to 10 p.m. or later Saturday and Sundays. Including Holidays, even in the rain! On weekends, additional fun activities are available at the Legends Plaza at Tryon Resort, including photos with Santa, storytelling with Mrs. Claus, carousel rides, animal experiences, live music, s’mores roasting, activities for kids, and concessions.

The light show opens with the popular Lights by the Lake Foot Tour on December 1, from 5:30pm – 9pm. Admission for the walking tour is only $5 per adult. Children under 16 are admitted free with a paying adult. Guests are invited to experience the lights through a memorable and immersive experience by leaving their cars behind and taking a leisurely stroll through thousands of bright, twinkling holiday lights. Visitors can wind their way to the center of the park where they will find games, crafts with LEAF’s Easel Rider Artists, s’mores, and more. Santa will even be on hand for photos. Parking for the foot tour will be at Family of Faith Fellowship Church.

The Lake Julian Festival of Lights will remain open as a driving tour from December 2nd through December 23rd, operating nightly from 6pm – 9pm. Vehicle entry for Festival of Lights is $10 per passenger vehicle and $20 for large vans, motor coaches, and buses.  Advance tickets may be purchased for $8 per passenger vehicle and $14 for large vans, motor coaches, and buses online at www.lakejulianfestivaloflights.com.

Main Street Holiday Hay Rides

Take the family on a tractor-drawn wagon ride through festively decorated Main Street, from 6-9pm. Passengers board at the Hendersonville Visitor Center, located at 201 S Main Street. Thanks to Stepp’s Orchard for supplying the wagon rides!

 

On these days, Santa will be on the Visitor Center stage to take photos with your kids from 2-6pm (bring your camera!) and from 11am-7pm, the iceless skating rink will be open, you can play curling on two iceless lanes, and enjoy cocoa, snacks and games! Skating costs $8 for adults, $5 for kids ages 10 and under, and includes skate rental. Curling costs $5 per person for 30 minutes of play.
