The National Gingerbread House Competition™ & Display at the Omni Grove Park Inn showcases competitors from around the country in one of the nation’s most celebrated and competitive holiday events! The actual competition is on 11/18, and the public can view the display from November 20th – January 4th on Sundays from 3 – 9pm, and Monday-Thursdays from 9am – 9pm, excluding November 27, 28, December 23, 24, 25, 29, 30, 31, and January 1, 2020 (when it is only open to hotel guests). There is no charge to see the display, but there is a parking fee of $25 for self-parking or $30 for valet, with half of the parking proceeds going to benefit local charities.

It is time to get into the Christmas spirit and Hendersonville Community Band’s joint concert with the Hendersonville Chorale is the perfect place to find the holiday joy. Both of these fine groups, HCB with Winford Franklin as Director and the Chorale with Michael Brannon as Director will present wonderful Seasonal Music.
Dr. Joe Brashier will also guest-conduct a piece with HCB.
The band will perform favorites such as “March of the Toys” from “Babes in Toyland, “Laughing All the Way” based on “Jingle Bells” (Pierpont 1857), and the traditional “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
The Chorale will perform, among other pieces, “In the Bleak Midwinter” and “Low How a Rose E’er Blooming. The Chorale is in its 45th season of Fall and Spring concerts. They recently combined with the Asheville Symphony Chorus on a European Tour that included several European Countries.
A special treat this concert will be the HCB Trombone Ensemble playing “Joy to the World” and Go Tell it on the Mountain.” HCB is excited to present this group of trombonists.
The combined band and the chorale will present “White Christmas” by Irving Berlin and also “Christmas Pop Sing-a-Long” with audience participation.
Come and hear this crowd-pleasing concert on Sunday, December 8th, 3:00 at Blue Ridge Community College in the Blue Ridge Concert Hall. Dressed as vintage-inspired Christmas characters from the 1800s, Art MoB members will stroll Main Street and pass out candy canes and invitations to come in from the winter chill.

Peppermint the Bear is a special friend of Santa and she needs your help finding her missing cubs! They were sent out to get holiday decorations and a tree, and have not come home. Find Peppermint at the Visitor Center, and then head out to shops along Main Street to look for her cubs. If you help her find 12 of her cubs, you will be eligible to win a prize.
