Mountain Fresh Orchards will be celebrating Freedom Days at the Farm July 3, 4 & 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.  Fresh picked peaches, blueberries, blackberries, half runner beans, okra and other fruits and vegetables will be available for purchase in the farm market.

Mountain Fresh Orchards has the largest farm bakery in Henderson County serving over 18 fresh baked items. They offer warm apple cider donuts, fresh baked apple bread, apple pies and other tasty treats. The farm market has a wide range of canned goods such as sourwood honey, wildflower honey, honey crisp apple sauce, apple butter, peach butter, jams, jellies, preserves, BBQ sauces, hot sauces, pickles, salsas, canned peaches and sorghum. Handmade crafts such as face mask, potholders, hand towels, wreaths and decorated glass blocks are also available.  The kids will love the Kids Korner with fun books, train whistles, t-shirts, engineer hats and stuffed animals to choose from.

The Apple Express trackless train will take folks of all ages on a ride through the orchard.

If you are unable to visit Mountain Fresh Orchards in person an online store is available on their website so you can shop at your convenience.  Curbside pickup is available for local folks.

The modifications to the Garden Jubilee 2020 Nurseries & Orchard Tour will follow federal and state mandated guidelines for cleaning, social distancing and limiting crowd size. The self-guided tour allows you to have the flexibility of mapping out your own route by starting at the business of your choice.

Local and nurseries will be selling annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, vegetables, herbs and hard-to-find plants.annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, vegetable plants, herbs, hanging baskets, planter boxes, garden accessories, flowers pots, garden soil and much more. The orchards will be offering produce, jams, jellies, honey, cider and baked goods.  Several of the stops along the way, will feature crafters, selling such items as: pottery, soap, wind spinners, wreaths, aprons, jewelry, wind chimes, bells and sculptures.

CANCELED: Historic Johnson Farm Spring Festival

This event has been canceled due to COVID-19.

 

Enjoy the 30th Annual Spring Festival at Historic Johnson Farm, a heritage education center. Step back into the past for a family-friendly, entertaining event suitable for all family and individuals of all ages. The event is from 10 am to 4 pm. The festival features heritage crafts and activities, farm animals, house tours, live music by renowned youth fiddler Lillian Chase and the Deadpan String Band, food for purchase, and more! All activities take place on the 15-acre farm that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a NC Cultural Treasure. The farm features 10 historic structures including an 1880s brick farmhouse and a 1923 boarding house that is home to the Heritage Weavers and Fiber Artists.
