Historic Johnson Farm Spring Festival

Enjoy the 30th Annual Spring Festival at Historic Johnson Farm, a heritage education center. Step back into the past for a family-friendly, entertaining event suitable for all family and individuals of all ages. The event is from 10 am to 4 pm. The festival features heritage crafts and activities, farm animals, house tours, live music by renowned youth fiddler Lillian Chase and the Deadpan String Band, food for purchase, and more! All activities take place on the 15-acre farm that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a NC Cultural Treasure. The farm features 10 historic structures including an 1880s brick farmhouse and a 1923 boarding house that is home to the Heritage Weavers and Fiber Artists.

Olde Fashioned Christmas at Art MoB Studios

Art MoB Studios & Marketplace will be participating in Hendersonville’s Olde Fashioned Christmas celebration on Friday, December 6, from 5 pm to 8 pm. Stores and galleries In the village stay open late for holiday shopping and entertainment. Dressed as vintage-inspired Christmas characters from the 1800s, Art MoB members will stroll Main Street and pass out candy canes and invitations to come in from the winter chill.

Art MoB will display a tree decorated exclusively with ornaments handmade by artists, and there will also be an array of gingerbread houses designed and created by children ages 5–12. For those who want to come in from the cold, Art MoB will also host demonstrations during Olde Fashioned Christmas and serving up delicious hot cocoa and offering holiday treats.

Art MoB is located at 124 4th Avenue East in Hendersonville. Winter hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 1–4 p.m. on Sunday.

The Henderson County Curb Market extends an invitation to its annual Ol’ Timey Christmas celebration from 8 until 2 on Saturday, November 30th. The Curb Market, located at 221 N. Church Street in downtown Hendersonville, will offer live holiday music by Tom Brown “One-Man-Band” and complimentary home baked cookies, hot mulled cider and other refreshments. Customers will enjoy shopping for local seasonal produce, dried flowers, wreaths, baked goods, preserves and salsas. Shoppers will not want to miss the opportunity to visit with the friendly vendors and see their unique hand crafted items. With each purchase a raffle ticket will be given for a chance to win a basket filled with Market goods. The young and young at heart can also look forward to a drop in visit from Santa!

Henderson County Curb Market Ol’ Timey Day

The Henderson County Curb Market will have its Fall Ol’ Timey Day celebration on Saturday, September 28th from 8 until 2. The Curb Market is located at 221 N. Church Street in downtown Hendersonville. This is sure to be a fun filled day for the whole family. The morning will start with a breakfast of ham, sausage and gravy biscuits cooked on antique wood cookstoves. Live folk music will be provided by David Emmons. For the enjoyment of the young and young at heart, there will be face painting as well as Millie Midnight and Sunshine, two friendly little goats who love attention. Shoppers will not want to miss visiting with the friendly vendors and seeing their unique hand crafted items. Shoppers will also find produce in season, baked goods, free range eggs, cut and dried flowers, wreaths, preserves, salsas and much, much more.

The Open Studio Tour is a celebration of local art when once a year artists across Henderson County swing open their doors and invite the public behind the scenes of the creation process. Meet the artists; find special buys; see tips and tricks demonstrated. All while touring this beautiful Blue Ridge mountain community.

The Preview Party is Sept. 19 at 4pm at the Center for Art and Inspiration, next to the Rhythm & Brews Concert.
This will allow visitors to meet all the artists, see examples of Tour art, hear great music all evening!, and Great Beer! and Great Food! and be a part of an Art raffle benefitting the Backpack Program!!!
