The 2021 North Carolina Mountain State Fair “Rides Again” at the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center. It is an exciting year with returning favorites: Mooternity, Hogway Speedway, Leon Jacobs on the keyboard, Agridabra, the Comedy Hypnotist, Extreme Illusions & Escapes and the Kenyan Safari Acrobats.
New entertainment includes the Lumberjack Show, Wild Wheels Motorcycle Show, the World Class Bird Show and on September ( 9 1 1 ) a military fly-over.
Midway provider Drew Exposition plans to bring two new rides to the fair including a high-speed thrill ride from England called the “Fighter” and a classic American Eagle Ferris Wheel made in Jacksonville, Ill.
The barns will be filled with animals on display and livestock shows. Take time to enjoy the Competitive Exhibits in the Expo Building with displays of beautiful quilts, the huge pumpkin and the best vegetables grown in the Mountains! There will be baked and preserved goods, photography, handmade clothing, crafts, hand weaving & spinning; all bringing their best to compete for the treasured “Blue Ribbon.”
The Heritage Crafts Circle features skilled craftsmen at work. Demonstrations will include blacksmithing, molasses making, potters, dulcimer makers, rug braiders, corn shelling, blown glass, oil painting, and so much more.
The Mountain Music Stage will have bluegrass music performances beginning at 6:00 pm nightly.
Make sure to bring your appetite and enjoy your favorite “fair food.”
The NC Mountain State Fair runs September 10-19 at the WNC Agricultural Center in Fletcher. The WNC Ag Center is approximately located10 miles from downtown Hendersonville off of I-26 across from the Asheville Airport.
