It is apple harvest time in Hendersonville! North Carolina is the 7th largest apple-producing state in the nation and Henderson County is the largest apple-producing county in North Carolina. The apple harvest season runs from late August through early November. Fresh apples, pumpkins, cider, produce, baked goods, jellies, honey and many other items may be purchased at the many roadside apple markets or produce stands located throughout Henderson County. Some orchards allow you to pick your own apples. Several orchards have expanded their operations to include family fun activities, corn mazes, apple cannons, wagon rides and tours.
