Community Reading of Carl Sandburg’s Complete Poems
October 19 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pmFree
Head to The Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site Amphitheater in Flat Rock for a community reading of Carl Sandburg’s “The Complete Poems,” a collection of Sandburg’s poetry published from 1916 to 1950 that won a Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 1951. The collection starts with the Chicago Poems and reflects a portrait of America, much of which can still be observed today. The reading is done in celebration of the site’s 51st anniversary as a National Historic Site, and will begin at the start of the collection and go as far into the reading as possible until time runs out at noon.
